October 18th, 2018 - Lafayette, LA

The Louisiana Golf Association (LGA) is currently accepting applications for its 2019 USGA P.J. Boatwright internship.  The successful candidate will work with all staff members at the LGA and will see golf administration from a number of perspectives.

“This position will provide a wide-ranging experience for an individual that is considering the possibility of a career in golf administration.  We have had a number of former interns move on to full-time positions in the industry, both at the LGA and other golf associations,” said LGA Executive Director, Logan Ray.

The USGA provides internship funding for 59 Allied Golf Associations, of which the LGA is one.  This will be the 23rd consecutive year that the LGA has received funding for the Boatwright internship.  All full-time staff members at the LGA are former Boatwright interns.

The LGA is the governing body for golf in Louisiana.  It has conducted the Louisiana Amateur Championship since 1920 and conducts seven other major Amateur Championship events for men, five championships for women, eight USGA qualifying events, and six Louisiana Junior Golf Tour events annually.  It also administers the USGA Handicapping and Course Rating programs in the state for over 80 Member Clubs and 13,000 individual members.  Its offices are located in Lafayette.
