April 1, 2009  --  Lafayette, LA  --  Online registration and hard-copy entry applications are now available for the Louisiana Golf Association’s Mid-Amateur, Junior Amateur, and Four-Ball Championships. The LGA annually conducts eight (8) Championships, beginning in late April with the Club Team Championship and concluding in mid September with the Senior Four-Ball Championship.

The LGA Mid-Amateur will be conducted at Oakbourne Country Club in Lafayette, August 7-9, 2009, with qualifying rounds at eight statewide sites in early July.  The Dick Wilson design at Oakbourne is one of the LGA’s most popular sites. Entry fee for the Mid-Am is $200, with individuals not qualifying for Championship rounds play receiving a $100 refund. Entries are also now available for the Junior Amateur Championship at Alexandria Golf & Country Club, as well as the Four-Ball Championship at TPC Louisiana, a Pete Dye design that hosts the PGA Tour’s annual Zurich Classic, in New Orleans. Dates for the Junior Am are July 8-10 with the entry fee set at $50.  The Four-Ball is scheduled for July 18-19 with a team entry fee of $300.

In order to register online for LGA Championships, one must simply log onto the LGA’s homepage at www.LGAgolf.org and select ‘Online Tournament Registration.’   From there, simply follow the prompts for registration. Navigation through the online entry is an easy process.

Online registration is available for all 2009 LGA Championships with the exception of the Club Team Championship. Opening date for online registration for the Net Amateur and Amateur Championships was February 1; for the Junior Amateur, Four-Ball, and Mid-Amateur Championships, April 1; and for the Senior Amateur and Senior Four-Ball Championships, June 1. Entry forms may be downloaded from www.LGAgolf.org and forwarded to the LGA office (the old fashioned way) and are also available by calling the LGA office.
