LOUISIANA GOLF ASSOCIATION ENTRY APPLICATIONS, ONLINE REGISTRATION AVAILABLE FOR 2008 MID-AMATEUR, JUNIOR AMATEUR, AND FOUR-BALL CHAMPIONSHIPS

April 3, 2008     Lafayette, LA     Online registration and hard-copy entry applications are now available for the Louisiana Golf Association’s Mid-Amateur, Junior Amateur, and Four-Ball Championships. The LGA annually conducts eight (8) Championships, beginning in late April with the Club Team Championship and concluding in mid September with the Senior Four-Ball Championship.

The LGA Mid-Amateur will be conducted at Ellendale Country Club in Houma, August 1-3, 2008, with qualifying rounds at eight statewide sites in early July.  The Joe Finger design at Ellendale is an extremely popular site and saw extensive renovations in 2003. Entry fee for the Mid-Am is $200, with individuals not qualifying for Championship rounds play receiving a $100 refund. Entries are also now available for the Junior Amateur Championship at Santa Maria Golf Club in east Baton Rouge, as well as the Four-Ball Championship at the David Toms’ designed Carter Plantation just southwest of Hammond in Springfield. Dates for the Junior Am are July 9-11 with the entry fee set at $50.  The Four-Ball is scheduled for July 19-20 with a team entry fee of $300.

In order to register online for LGA Championships, one must simply log onto the LGA’s homepage at www.LGAgolf.org and select ‘Online Tournament Registration.’   From there, simply follow the prompts for registration. Navigation through the online entry is an easy process. 

Online registration is available for all 2008 LGA Championships with the exception of the Club Team Championship. Opening date for online registration for the Net Amateur and Amateur Championships was February 1; for the Junior Amateur, Four-Ball, and Mid-Amateur Championships, April 1; and for the Senior Amateur and Senior Four-Ball Championships, June 1. Entry forms may be downloaded from www.LGAgolf.org and forwarded to the LGA office (the old fashioned way) and are also available by calling the LGA office.

Entries must be submitted for the 2008 Amateur Championship by April 29, with the Net Amateur Championship deadline falling on May 6.
