The Louisiana Golf Association (LGA) has named Logan Ray as the Association’s new Executive Director, effective January 1, 2018.

Ray has served as the LGA’s Assistant Executive Director for the past two years and has held the role of Director of Championship Operations since 2012.  Ray, 29, first joined the LGA as a USGA P.J. Boatwright Intern in 2011.  He will succeed Carr McCalla who, after over 22 years in the position, is preparing to step down.  McCalla will remain active with the LGA as a senior advisor.

“I am honored to be named the next Executive Director of the Louisiana Golf Association,” said Ray.  “This has been a goal of mine since I started my career with the LGA, and to see it to fruition is exciting.  It has been a privilege to learn the ropes from one of the best golf administrators in the country, Carr McCalla, and I am looking forward to leading our team and ensuring that the game in Louisiana remains strong and healthy in the years to come.”

He will lead a staff that includes Director of Member Services Kyle Nagdeman, a yet to be named Director of Championship Operations, and a 2018 USGA P.J. Boatwright intern.  The LGA is governed by an 18-member Board of Directors representing the nearly 100 member clubs of the association.

Ray, who grew up in Estill Springs, Tennessee, and graduated from Sewanee: The University of the South, resides in Lafayette, LA with his wife Jessica.
