November 20, 2013 — Lafayette, LA — The Louisiana Golf Association announced its 2014 Championship Schedule on Wednesday. The LGA will again conduct nine Championship and 16 qualifying events during 2014, beginning the first weekend in May with the Club Team Championship and concluding the first weekend in October with the Senior 4-Ball Championship.
“We are excited about our 2014 LGA Championship schedule and the quality venues we can provide our players an opportunity to play,” said LGA Director of Championship Operations Logan Ray. “We continue to be appreciative to our Member Clubs that are willing to give back to the game by opening their doors to our Championships.”
The LGA’s 95th Amateur Championship, an event that crowned its first champion in 1920, will be conducted June 5-8 at Le Triomphe Golf & Country Club in Lafayette. Le Triomphe, host of the Louisiana Chitimacha Open, the Web.com Tour’s first stop in the continental U.S. every season, will provide a stern test for the best Amateur golfers in Louisiana. Le Triomphe has hosted a number of LGA Championships over the years, including the 2012 Senior Four-Ball Championship and the 2000 Mid-Amateur Championship. 2014 will mark the first time the LGA has brought its marquee event to this excellent golf course in 18 years.
